To “calm down” Is something I’ve always found very hard and until a couple of years ago almost impossible. Now a days I still suck att relaxing but I’m getting better at It and these are some things that help me to relax and take care of myself:

My best self-care tips

  1. Go to the beach. This might not geographically be possible for everybody to do just like that but If you live close to the sea try It. Nothing makes me as calm as just looking at the sea while listening to the weaves coming in.
  2. Cuddle and hug someone for over 15 seconds.
  3. Listen to a podcast. (Try Michelle och Sandra if you haven’t yet. 😉 )
  4. Call a friend or family member you haven’t had time to talk to in a while.
  5. Have a couch day. Take a whole day doing nothing but eating and watching Netflix.
  6. Go for a hike. I love this, I always feel so relaxed after a day out in the nature.
  7. Clean the house. Sometimes getting your home or calendar organized makes you feel like all of your life is organized.
  8. Meet up with your girlfriends for a girls night.
  9. Play with a dog. Hanging out with my dog Kenzo always gets me more relaxed and happy. 🙂
  10. Watch funny/cute youtube videos. My favorite videos are pugs and puppies. 😉
  11. Take 10 deep breaths.
  12. Light candles, log off social media, watch a movie or read a book.
  13. Meditate. Download a mediation app or listen to guided meditations on youtube. Only 10 minutes in the morning makes me more calm for the whole day.
  14. Put some music or your favorite podcast in your ears and go out for a slow long walk.
  15. Clean out your home. Go through old stuff and get rid of things you don’t need or use. Sell, remake or give away to charity.
  16. Get a good nights sleep.
  17. Have your favorite cheat meal, with no regrets.
  18. Have a sauna or take a hot long shower.
  19. Buy some flowers to your home.
  20. Start the day with no snoozing. Instead get up, get dressed, have breakfast, do your hair/makeup without stress.
